Blueberry3D® solution is made of 3 separate products to address the full Viz-sim requirements for Virtual terrain.
Blueberry3D Terrain Editor is the Blueberry3D standalone content creation tool. It is a complete, visual and interactive environment with a logical and intuitive workflow to fully design in no time a new visual database directly from geographical raw data (DTED/DFAD elevation data, GIS vector data, Imagery) and existing 3D models (or terrain) in OpenFlight format.
Through several parameters the end-user will define and set the procedures that will generate the 3D content from the geographical raw data. Those procedures will then refine the geographical data resolution by adding 3D details and textures thanks to fractal and procedural oversampling.

Before being able to vizualise your Visual database in your simulation system, the Blueberry3D technology must be integrated to your rendering engine. That's the purpose of the Blueberry3D RT Integration Kit. It contains:• a Software Development Kit (SDK)
The Blueberry3D real-time engine also supports dynamic terrain and content, making it possible to visualize in real-time: creation of craters from explosions, digging of trenches or destroyed walls or other content.
With version 4.0, it is also taking full advantage of 64 bits and multi core processors with support of parallelization and multi-threading. This has drastically improved Blueberry3D performances to visualize even more details in real-time.
Blueberry3D RT Integration Kit also includes Blueberry3D Optimizer that helps to optimize the Visual database by tuning Real Time parameters considering the targeted hardware and expected performances.
Blueberry3D Optimizer consists of a standalone viewer allowing the end user to run and fly through the database in order to assess the result in terms of visual quality and performances. It proposes several services in order to help for the tuning such as statistics, diagrams and indicators.
This process does not modify the 3D database definition, but helps to tune real-time parameters for Blueberry3D. Depending on available system resources Blueberry3D is balancing between the level of detail displayed and the objective to keep a stable 60 Hz frame rate.Blueberry3D RT Integration Kit supports XP, 7, 8 and Linux
To complete Blueberry3D terrain suite, Bionatics has specifically adapted Blueberry3D geometry solvers to address non-visual applications that need to query the terrain.
Blueberry3D Tactical Terrain SDK aims at providing CGF based applications with the same level of detail and realism as the one displayed in the IG, in order to enhance consistency. It integrates specific procedural solving rules to support CGF back-ends’ needs and constraints in terms of terrain queries, number of entities and performances.
It can perform thousands LOS or HAT queries at the same time for entities spread all over the visual database, with centimetric terrain precision.
Blueberry3D Tactical Terrain SDK is provided with a VR Forces plug-in sample.
This Blueberry3D Tactical Terrain SDK can also be used to answer Physics engines (like Vortex SDK by CM LABS) in order to precisely react to a very refined terrain ground.
